The Samsung Odyssey G8 closely resembles the G9 series in terms of design, which I find appealing. It is significantly smaller due to being a 32-inch 4K HDR curved gaming display. It shares with its larger siblings a 1000R curvature that is very similar to the human eye. It is 12.25 inches deep, little over 28 inches wide, and 23.85 inches tall (with the stand). Its depth without the stand is approximately 6.81 inches if you plan to VESA install it.
Regarding the stand, the legs are your standard V shape. With the use of one screw, the stand is fastened to the legs. The stand is covered in white and has a cable management tab that looks like rubber near the bottom. It doesn’t appear as neat as the G9-series, which allows the cables to be run into the interior of the stand. The stand’s legs also rest flat on your desk, making it impossible to feed your keyboard, mouse, or other cords below them for a neat appearance. You may change the stand to the height you want by adjusting its angle, tilt, pivot, and height. The Neo G8 gaming display offers a total height adjustment of 4.72 inches.
The black bezels on the top, sides, and bottom of the monitor’s face vary in size, with the bottom bezel being a little larger. With the addition of the virtual screen bezel, the thickness of the top, bottom, and side physical bezels increases to 3/8″. With a thickness of little over an inch, the bottom bezel is mostly physical. Two thin, 3 3/4-inch-long LED strips are on the left and right sides. To add a splash of color to your setup, you may toggle these on or off together with the back Infinity Core Lighting ring.
A little component bearing the Samsung emblem is positioned in the middle beneath the monitor (presumably for the adaptive picture feature). The power/menu toggle button is situated below this, in the middle of four other buttons. These buttons are different from the single menu/power button on the G9-series and have a pleasant rubbery finish. The Odyssey Neo G8’s back is a dazzling white color, just like the backs of the other Samsung Odyssey monitors. It has several slender cutouts running across the middle and some vents along the top. Near the left side is where the Odyssey logo is situated (when looking at the back). The Infinity Core Lighting ring has a black ring surrounding it to assist disperse the light, and is positioned on the back of the monitor around the top of the stand. When turned on, the glow is rather subtle and, if your desk is placed next to a wall, it does not reflect much off of it. It certainly give the monitor a wonderful touch when it is visible.
The recessed ports are located beneath the Infinity Core. The ports on most modern monitors face downward, thus wires enter them from the bottom up.
